starandseas did the beta.
Warnings: Drabble, missing scene from episode 209, extended end, slash, fluff.
Word count: 200
Disclaimer: Josh Schwartz and Chris Fedak may have created them, but Chuck's all Casey's.
Title: Bad day's end
Chuck sighs as Casey shuts the door almost in front of his face, and goes to his own apartment, but then jogs back and knocks on Casey's door.
It takes Casey awhile to get to it; more than a minute (not that Chuck's counting, it just feels like forever) until he yanks the door open: "What?"
Chuck doesn't say a word, just throws his arms around Casey and hugs him. Just for a moment, because he thinks Casey needs it after such a terrible day, after having to fight with his sensei, his mentor. He won, of course, but that doesn't make it any better.
That probably explains, how Chuck's able to catch Casey off guard long enough to actually hug him back. It lasts just a moment, but Chuck definitely feels Casey's arms tighten around him. And there is a growl, too, but just a low, quiet one, almost like a purr.
That's the moment when Chuck breaks the hug, because that's not an appropriate track of thoughts now. Or ever. Not about Casey. Though it feels right.
"Good night, Casey" Chuck says, and Casey just nods, watching him return to his apartment, before he closes the door again.
