Are you fuckin' kidding me?! I was just about to start watching Grey's because of this storyline, it looked like they were actually going to portray the relationship well, it had me excited. Dear gods, every time I think we've taken a step forward it's so obvious how far we haven't come.
My thoughts exactly! This pisses me off beyond anything else. I mean, what kind of a statement is that? They kicked out Isaiah Washington because of his homophobic remarks and now they act the same way! I don't think I'm gonna watch the rest of this season.
Fuck. That's so damn ridiculous. And annoying cause I actually really liked Erica. And the great thing about Callie and Erica was that they didn't go the usual route with girl on girl relationships, which is a big part of what makes me enormously wary of f/f because they always market them to horny little 14 year old boys rather than trying to make them a legitimate couple. Goddamn I hate small-minded, bigoted execs.
It's so so bad, really. And yes, you are right. The chemistry between the characters was awesome, the actresses had fun, it could has been a believable, positive same sex relationship, but no, ABC had to ruinit.
After they fired Isaiah Washington because of his homophobic remarks, I'd never expected something like that...
Which would be such a nice change. There need to be more positively portrayed gay relationships on TV and it really disgusts me that the execs always seem so threatened by that stuff. The same thing with all the people who will complain... or those who get pissed if their kids see a gay kiss. Yes, god forbid they are ever exposed to different lifestyles and learn that it might just be alright to be different. I never understand why people like that seem so threatened by this stuff. *shakes head*
So true... you'd think they'd want to send an actual positive message, but apparently not.
It is... lol I almost never get to use that one but it's quite handy. *pats Teddy*
