Title: Secret musings
He hates Burrows. Or rather, he would hate him, if Burrows was important enough. Which he isn't. At least not for him. But Theodore Bagwell still has good reasonsto hate not to like him.
The first reason is that Burrows keeps T-Bag from getting Scofield. Scofield who has immediately caught his attention, because really, it's impossible not to notice such a pretty face in a place like Fox River.
T-Bag could easily find a way to convince Sucre to stay out of it, and just do whatever he wants with Scofield. And he wants a lot. He has plenty of time to think about it after all, so he knows he could make Scofield his own, if it wasn't for Burrows to keep an eye on both of them, even through the fence that separates them.
Since they work for the PI together, he can feel Burrows' eyes on him, whenever he manages to come closer to Scofield; knows that Burrows is ready to do whatever he has to, to protect Scofield.
That's the second reason why he doesn't like Burrows. Theodore is sure that if Scofield had told him that someone was hurting him, Burrows would do anything to stop it, even as a kid.
Maybe if he, Theodore Bagwell, had a brother and would have shared a room with him, his father wouldn't have come to him at nights. Or if he did, maybe his brother would have helped him to end it. Maybe his life would have been completely different, then.
Maybe he would still be with his Susie Q and have a family. And he would be a great father. The best. Completely different from his own father. Because he isn't a monster. Sure, what he did make him look like one, but he isn't.
He would never touch Susie's kids. He hadn't even thought about it when he first met them... Well, okay, he had, but only for a second, old habits die hard.
But he didn't do anything, and even now he is sure, as long as Susan would be by his side, he would be able to live a normal life, with a normal wife and normal kids.
Instead, he is locked up for life and has to watch Scofield planning Burrows' escape. Because Burrows is innocent. As if.
The word innocent had been erased from T-Bag's vocabulary a long time ago. No one is innocent. That's another reason why he doesn't like Burrows.
But should this escape really take place, should it succeed, he will be part of it, and maybe, with a little luck he can at least pretend to be innocent...
